Painting Contractor Website Redesign and SEO Migration

A page-for-page rebuild for a Jacksonville painting contractor with hundreds of pages and years of search history behind it. Every page kept its address, every old link lands in one hop, and homeowners book an estimate from the owner's real open times. Behind it sits an office where he edits any page, follows every lead, and prices jobs.

The brief

A New Leaf Painting Contractors has painted homes and businesses across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida since 2010, and its website grew with it: hundreds of blog posts and paint guides, video stories from customers, and a page for nearly every town the crews work in. Then the site was moved to a new platform, and the move went badly. Hundreds of old addresses were redirected to the homepage, pages that search engines still listed were gone, and the blog had lost the markup that tells Google what a post is. The owner, Thomas Drake, wanted a site that looked like the company his customers know, made booking an estimate simple, and showed real jobs. The hard part was giving him all of that without breaking what the site still had: years of addresses that people and search engines already knew.

What we built

  • Rebuilt the whole site in Next.js with every page at its original address and its own words carried over, from the service and town pages to every blog post and video story, so nothing a customer or a search engine knew went missing
  • Traced every address the site had published, back through its older platforms, and made each one answer in a single hop: to the page that replaced it, or to a clean "gone" for the thin, near-identical pages that should never have been published
  • Made booking one form on the site itself: a homeowner takes one of Thomas's real open times or asks for a call, every estimate link on the site opens the same window, and the request lands in the follow-up system his office already ran
  • Gave finished jobs their own pages, each with what the crew found, the prep and repairs, the products and colors, the result in photos, and the HOA approval details neighbors ask about
  • Plotted about five hundred of his past jobs on a map of Northeast Florida, so a homeowner can see whether the crew has painted near them before they call
  • Gave every town page its own finished jobs and its own map, and never another town's name or a neighbor's job captioned as local, so each service area page says something true about the place
  • Brought his reviews from Google, Facebook, Houzz and Yelp onto one page beside the customer films, each marked with where it was first posted, and made the review figure come from one place so every page and its search markup agree
  • Made every business fact come from one source, from the founding year on the state record to the insurance limit, so hundreds of pages cannot drift out of agreement
  • Built an office behind the site: a page builder where Thomas edits any page with every version kept, a leads inbox that stores each request before passing it on, his own job pricer rebuilt as a screen, a media library, and sign-ins for the office and the crew that each see only their part
  • Restored clean search markup, one business described once, breadcrumbs on every page and article markup on every post, and served the large PNG hero images as lossless WebP, identical pixel for pixel, so pages load faster on a phone without a softer picture
